IRAPADA follows the journey of Jimi Adeoba, who returns to his family home in Nigeria after a decade abroad. Estranged from his cold father and resentful brother Jare, Jimi makes the reluctant trip seeking closure.
At their reunion in Abeokuta, old tensions resurface. Over dinner, Jare mocks Jimi’s education and insists he work on the family farm, while Jimi demands his inheritance to start anew in Lagos. Their father shocks them both by granting Jimi not just his share, but the entire fortune, leaving Jare humiliated and bitter.
In Lagos, Jimi squanders his wealth on reckless living and failed ventures. His downfall leads to arrest and imprisonment in Kirikiri prison, where years of brutality strip him of arrogance and ambition. When a prison fire claims many lives, Jimi narrowly escapes and begins a path of redemption, sustained by strangers who show him unexpected kindness. A little girl names him Buoda Irapada—Brother Redemption—signalling his transformation.
Jimi eventually returns home to seek reconciliation. His father welcomes him, but Jare, consumed by resentment, plots against him. As Jimi struggles to make amends, he uncovers Jare’s own wounds and the role of a woman from their past in shaping his brother’s bitterness.
Family conflicts come to a head through trials, revelations, and spiritual awakenings. Divine interventions force the brothers to confront their rivalry and find forgiveness. In the end, Jimi embraces a new life of faith, symbolised by his baptism. The family gathers not only for this moment of renewal but also to celebrate Jare’s wedding to the woman he has loved all along—signalling healing, restoration, and a new beginning.
At its heart, IRAPADA is a story of redemption and reconciliation. It explores the bonds and rivalries of family, the consequences of pride and ambition, and the grace that offers second chances across generations.
