Lovely Things About Me

I am the definition of Graceful Simplicity… fun, quirky, deep, intense, but then I digress.

I love God. He loves me in a unique way, like I am all there is to love. It thrills me to bits. I love music, but worship music makes my heart yearn for His presence. It pulls me upwards and I feel all weight and burdens disintegrate. God’s presence harasses life’s troubles. Phil Driscoll sang, “I just cast aside the cares of this world, and fall in love with You again. Yes, I fall helplessly in love with Jesus all over again.

My love affair with books is such that I have more books than I have read. I’m not sure if it is the compulsion to keep buying books or the many narratives in my head that I have space in my home for books. Which ever song is the loudest, I dance to its tune. Words are like the strings of life that connects everything. I have a thing for words and my heart is not broken yet. I take long walks, for the wind that scores through my African hair, or for the scenery, sights or sounds; my legs dance an accordant tune with the earth. Now add a dash of rain to the walk, and I’m sold out. Rain either hides your tears by washing them away or set you up for a date with a warm shower. Rain is just soothing either way.

And I visited an art museum and always mesmerised by the creativity that man expresses, even as it reminds me of the way God paints the sunset and standing in front of a beautiful waterfall, meadow or nature’s work of art. God is simply amazingly creative.

I try to be faithful to Godiva truffles, but all label, ‘chocolate‘ has got my number since I figured chocolates came from a tree. Trees, leaves, vegetables, healthy. Leave the technicalities behind. We talking about place of origin. Haha! My quirky sense of humour endears me to many people. I love a good laugh.

I’m passionate about breaking the Word of God down to practicalities, to help people understand, love and embrace God in simple ways. I believe trusting God is so simple yet profound. It’s the simplicity of faith that befuddles many. Gid wants everyone to easily understand His love, His desire for mankind and His gifts and provisions.

I had a long-term desire to design beautiful homes and edifices, but God steered me to study Literature rather than Architecture. I still love beautiful things and I infuse my love of art in everything I do. God was right; I love words and enjoy writing and creating worlds in which characters grapple with life whilst trusting in a loving and unfailing God.

But I live a very private life, except the gushing in my inspirational journals.
