From Tears To Authority
I used to be an emotional believer. If it felt right, it must be God. If it didn’t feel right, then it wasn’t.
I believed my tears would move heaven. After all, He keeps my tears in a bottle (Psalm 56:8).
And yes… He is touched by the feeling of our infirmities (Hebrews 4:15).
All true.
I could quote many scriptures to defend my darling heart… my feelings. But when the enemy came, he had no regard for my feelings. He still attacked.
That’s when I grew up.
The language of “Dear Daddy” is for the intimate place. But when the enemy comes to the gate, I don’t cry. I go on the offensive.
I deal with him in authority, grounded in Scripture. Because that is the only language he understands.
Behold, I give you authority… over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. — Luke 10:19
Yes, we are feminine. Yes, tears come easily. But tears are for the secret place.
2026 requires warfare at the gates.
Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. — Matthew 18:18
The enemy is not moved by tears. He is tearing down lives, unapologetically.
Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them.”— Colossians 2:15
We must know who we are in Christ and wield authority accordingly.
Those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. — Romans 5:17
Intimacy builds us. Authority protects us.
Both matter, but we must know when to use each.
I still cry in the presence of the Holy Spirit. I mean, I blubber like a baby. He is my Father. I can be emotional. That’s a relationship.
Much love,
Olusola
